Underfoot, the Natural is all texture. Thick jute worked into a looping, curled bouclé, so the surface has genuine body rather than lying flat or printed. It comes in a warm, neutral tone that shifts with the light through the day and grounds a room without asking for attention, roughly half an inch of pile handmade in Kerala from 100% sustainable jute. At area size it has real presence, enough weight to lie flat and hold a full seating area with the front legs of the sofa resting on it, or to settle quietly beneath a bed or dining table. Handcrafted by a family workshop, and all the better for it: a rug made to be lived on, one that softens and settles with the years.

Like all natural fiber rugs, some initial shedding is normal and will settle over time. If a strand pops out, twist and push it back through to the base; never pull it. You may also notice a fine layer of dust beneath the rug in the first few weeks. A natural odor from dyes and fibers may be present when first unpackaged. This is completely normal and will dissipate once the rug is aired out.
