Underfoot, the Natural is all texture. Thick jute worked into a looping, curled bouclé, so the surface has genuine body rather than lying flat or printed. It comes in a warm, neutral tone that shifts with the light through the day and grounds a room without asking for attention, roughly half an inch of pile handmade in Kerala from 100% sustainable jute. At area size it has real presence, enough weight to lie flat and hold a full seating area with the front legs of the sofa resting on it, or to settle quietly beneath a bed or dining table. Handcrafted by a family workshop, and all the better for it: a rug made to be lived on, one that softens and settles with the years.

What to expect +
Like all natural fiber rugs, some initial shedding is normal and will settle over time. If a strand pops out, twist and push it back through to the base; never pull it. You may also notice a fine layer of dust beneath the rug in the first few weeks. A natural odor from dyes and fibers may be present when first unpackaged. This is completely normal and will dissipate once the rug is aired out.

Beautiful Rugs

I ordered one carpet initially and subsequently ordered two runners and another doormat. All the rugs are excellent quality and are soft to walk on. I’m so happy with all of them and am writing this review of my own accord and not in response to a request. My queries via email to the company were answered quickly and Mon was very friendly. I had four different deliveries to regional Victoria and they arrived within the week and at no charge. Highly recommend this business and their rugs.
