For over 4 years Zebra Home has been collaborating with a fourth-generation family-owned business in Kerala, India. Founded in the 1940’s they pride themselves on “being in harmony with nature” using renewable products such as Jute and Wool.
Jute is a long, soft vegetable fiber grown in the Gangetic Delta. It is renewable, bio-degradable, robust and environmentally friendly. The plants are harvested annually by hand and the fiber is extracted from the bark of the plant after a soaking process.
Zebra Home owner, Monique has had the privilege of visiting Kerala and toured the factories, meeting staff and workers. She is very proud to have seen the factories and the conditions and can confidently say the rugs, runners and doormats are made ethically and with pride.
